Wow as soon as 1 table emptied another filled. Food was delicious! Will definitely get the sticky toffee pudding next time! He got the fish n chips, I would say it was better than Ramsays fish n chips in Vegas hands down.

Great food, atmosphere, and service! If you wanna try British food, this is the place. I heard from others that the scotch egg was good so I ordered it but honestly, it was a bit overhyped! It is fairly yummy for what it is, but if you’re not a fan of boiled eggs you probably won’t love this. Still recommend trying it though, and order it cold (I made the mistake of ordering it hot). The German platter had a fair amount of food for its price and it tasted great. Sausages were juicy & had great flavor, the German schnitzel was super crunchy & tender, and the mash & gravy was delicious too. The sides of picked red cabbage and sauerkraut fit perfectly too. The one thing I 100% recommend everyone to get is the sticky toffee pudding. It literally made me speechless, the cake was moist & had an amazing caramelized crust , and the ice cream provided an amazing contrast in texture & temperature. The resturaunt’s environment and atmosphere was really welcoming & great! Definitely a place in Ames you should check out.

I stopped in based on a recommendation from a friend who says they ALWAYS stop in when traveling through Ames or DesMoines. I really enjoyed the food and the service! The atmosphere was nice and I’m sure I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t dining alone. The food was wonderful and so was the Guinness! I ended up getting the Scotch Egg and Bangers and Mash! All of the servers were very friendly and helpful. My server Belle B was attentive and made recommendations and suggestions. I really appreciate that she encouraged me to try the sauces that came with the Scotch Egg, because it was nice to try something different and actually like it! She was also great with helping answer questions about dietary restrictions and suggested any changes that wouldn’t keep me from enjoying the meal! I will add that the pub didn’t smell like grease or fish so it was not offensive to anyone who maybe sensitive with smells. I only bring that up because I know the fish and chips was highly recommended and is probably ordered quite a bit! Definitely did not disappoint, I think this will be a stop for me when I travel through Ames as well! I hope they continue to have several amazing years of success so others can enjoy them!

This little pub has a small town, home bar feel. Everyone was friendly like the show Cheers. They just didn't know my name to yell my name out when I walked in. The fish and chips are amazing with their delicious added sides of tartar sauce and side of coleslaw. The Luka Blueberry Apple Cider was delicious as well. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was a mouth-watering treat as well. I can't believe this was my first time there. I can't wait to go back again. I was so hungry I forgot to get a pic of my main course.

Had a blast at Mucky Duck's Pub in Ames, Iowa during a pit stop on my way back home from a family reunion. This place is seriously cool, with a dog-friendly patio, killer classic rock tunes, and a menu that will make your taste buds do a happy dance. Right off the bat, the dog-friendly patio was a game-changer. We could enjoy our Scottish egg, Fish and Chips (they even have a gluten-free version), and the German Platter while our fur-bag chilled in the shade with his own cool water dish. The vibe at Mucky Duck's Pub was super chill. The classic rock tunes from Styx, to Blondie, to Queen, driving through the speakers made it even better. As a beer lover, I was in heaven with the wide selection of brews from all over. Mucky Duck's Pub knows their stuff when it comes to beer. They've got something for every taste, whether you're a connoisseur or just looking to try something new - great if you love Untapped. Sydney made our experience even better with her friendly and attentive service. She was on top of everything and had great recommendations and was absolutely the best. Mucky Duck's Pub has plenty of parking spaces, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. The vibe is simply awesome, and you'll leave with a smile on your face and a satisfied belly. Cheers!

Visiting from NY and family took us here for lunch.. best restaurant in Ames!! Within seconds I fell in love with the tea menu, nevermind the fish and chips (amazing), and the sticky toffee pudding (equally amazing). Definitely will be a stop every time we're in town.
